Mailbox creation You can create an Exchange Mailbox with the Active Directory Users and Computers SnapIn. The process is similar for creating a normal Active Directory User Account with some additional steps. Attention: You must install the Exchange System Manager on every system from where you want to administer Exchange Server. Without the installed Exchange System Manager no additional Exchange information will be visible in the Active Directory Users and Computers SnapIn. If you have multiple Exchange Servers and Mailbox Stores you can select the Server and Mailbox Store on which the mailbox will be created. Introduction to Exchange 2007 Server Roles

Exchange 2007 introduces a new concept to Exchange organizations, the concept of server roles. Similar to how a Windows server can host one or more roles, this type of configuration has been implemented in Exchange Server 2007. Introduction Installing Exchange 2007 is just as easy as previous versions, and once you have prepped AD, the rest is pretty straight-forward. That doesn’t mean you should throw in the CD and start clicking Next! Be sure to review the prerequisites in the first part of this series to reduce any confusion that may lead to errors or worse. GUI Installation With all the prerequisites taken care of we can begin the Exchange 2007 installation. The GUI-based installation is pretty straightforward. Installing Exchange 2007 into a Small Business Server 2003 domain Part 1 – Preparing and Installing

Introduction When I told the Microsoft SBS technical support team that I was writing this article, they thought I was crazy. Karan Rustagi said, “We’re never gonna get a support call for SBS 2003 with Exchange 2007.” Well, that’s fighting talk where I come from! Having said that, I tend to agree with them. Exchange 2007, by definition, is not really an SBS product, it is designed to have different roles off-loaded to different server boxes, although it can be installed on just one server. Conversely, SBS is designed to run on one server box. The final release of Exchange 2007 is only available in 64bit. Is there a 64bit SBS? If so, I’ve never seen any of my customers with a 64bit SBS server.
